GARAGE DAYS TOUR

      Studio

1CD NI SB VG+

This CD is only 15:26 long.

            THE TRACKS ARE

(1) Hit The Lights
(2) The Mechanix
(3) Motorbreath
(4) Jump In The Fire  ~  Vocals; James Hetfield
                                          Drums; Lars Ulrich
                                          Bass; Ron Mcgovney
                                          Lead guitar; Dave Mustaine

      Old Waldorf, San Francisco, California
10-18-82      Night Of The Rivvit-Heads

1CD SB VG

There are a handfull of low volumed clicks during track 8, and 1 normal volumed one at the end of the track. Track 9 has a few low volumed clicks as well. Tracks 10 & 11 have a couple of clicks and track 12 has a handfull, but these are light and sound more more LP clicks. Tracks 9-12 are Demos taken from the second demo tape on 4-82 in Los Angeles, California that I rate SB EX-. Tracks 13-15 are a rehearsel for the 1983 tour with Dave Mustaine on 7-83 that I rate SB EX-.

      Studio
3 Dates              The Real No Life Till Leather

1CD NI SB EX

These songs are from the infamous "No Life Till Leather" Demos recorded in early 1982 for "Ride The Lightning". It has Loyd Grant on Guitar and Ron McGovney on Bass. Most of the tracks get my EX rating, but track 8 gets an EX-. Track 13 has clipping and I give it a VG. A couple of other tracks have minor clipping, but without that they would still get an EX. I have artwork for another version by "Digital Reproductions" called "No Life Till Leather".

TRADERS COMMENTS
"Apparently these recordings came from a 1st-2nd gen of Lars' master 3/4" reel, at least thats what the rumor is and who wouldn't agree? The quality on these demos is amazing and is the best you probably will ever find in the un-official environment. The track order is also correct here. The Whiplash-No Remorse demos are the only recordings featuring Dave and Cliff together".

            THE TRACKS ARE

(1-7) July 6, 1982 "No Life Till Leather" Demo
(1) Motorbreath
(2) The Mechanix
(3) Jump In The Fire

(5) Phantom Lord

(9) The Mechanix
(10) Motorbreath
(11) Jump In The Fire

(12 & 13) March 16, 1983 "Whiplash-No Remorse" Demo
(12) Whiplash
(13) No Remorse

      San Francisco, California
Unknown  The Early Days

1CD X SB VG

This is a Live show recorded in San Francisco, California with the original line up. This release is suppose to be the only live show of any kind to include Dave Mustaine of Megadeth Fame before even making the Demos to start things off for Metallica. Too bad the quality is so low! ;^((

      The Stone, San Francisco, California
3-5-83        Cliff's First Show

1CD (UI) AD VG

This show has Dave Mustaine. DRE has this listed as 5-5-83. This show is a low VG.

RIDE THE LIGHTNING TOUR

      Stadthalle, Koln (Cologne), Germany
12-5-84         Set The World Afire

1CD (UI) AD VG+

There are several LP sounding types of clicks throughout that I doubt came from an LP.

      Lyceum Ballroom, London, England
12-20-84   Teutonicus Furor

1CD NI AD VG+

There is a noticeable fuzzy distortion type of sound when the decibles increase for vocals and symbals. Although it isn't to bad during the songs, it is present, otherwise this would have gotten an EX-.

Lyceum Ballroom, London, England & Metallica's Garage, San Francisco, California
12-20-84 & 9-??-83  Welcome To The Ball

1CD SB EX- & EX

            THE TRACKS ARE

(1-7) Are from Lyceum Ballroom, London, England, and I rate them SB EX
(8-11) Are from Metallica's garage, San Francisco, California on 9-83, and I rate them SB? EX-

Donington Park (Monsters Of Rock), Leicestershire, England
8-17-85          Acting Like A Maniac

1CD (UI) AD EX-

This is a complete show, and is a low EX-.

MASTER OF PUPPETS TOUR

      Stockholm, Sweden
9-26-86   Cliff's Last Show

2CD AD VG

This show at one point was taken from an LP. CD2, track 5 during the lead guitar solo track, after about 15 seconds it starts over again by fading out and back in rather quickly.

      Playhouse Theatre, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
12-13-86    Unknown Title

1CD NI AD VG+

Track 11 from 00:20 to 00:22 the music cuts out. 10-2-08: I may have located artwork for this show. If it has 14 tracks, it could be "Masters Of Metal". With the show being packed away, I am unable check it out.

      Goteborg (Gothenburg), Sweden
2-13-87     Fanatical Battery

2CD NI SB EX-

This show starts part way into "Battery".

FCP Stadium (Monsters Of Rock Festival), Pforzheim, Germany
8-30-87     Look At Me Germany

1CD SB EX-

...AND JUSTICE FOR ALL ~ "DAMAGED JUSTICE TOUR '88-'89"

      Jacksonville Coliseum, Jacksonville, Florida
2-17-89     No Name Yet

2CD X NI AD EX-

This show is missing the last couple of songs.

      Seattle, Washington
8-29-89    Justice For Seattle

2CD AD EX-

CD1, track 3 at 2:34 has 4 quick zaps. CD2, track 1 has 10 seconds worth of the last part of the song repeated by the means of intentionally editing this is over and over again for about 3 minutes. The editing is very good, but we can hear the edit spots very lightly. The end of this song just ends by getting cut off. This isn't the worst part either. Sadly, all but 2 tracks have a click 2 seconds after the start of each song.

THE BLACK ALBUM TOUR

      Rose Bowl, Pasadena, California
??-??-91 or 92             Guns N' Roses - Metallica   (At The Rose Bowl)

1CD X SB EX+

This is a show when Metallica & GNR actually played on the same night & stage together. Not sure who opened and who head lined. This CD contains seperate DJ Jazz type of medleys. This mixing has more of a metal sound though.

      Copps Coliseum, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada
4-14-92           Totally Destroy Canada

2CD (UI) AD EX-

This is a drummers CD. They are the most up front in the mix. If they had been a little back in the mix, and the guitars were more up front, this show could have gotten an EX. There are a handfull of spots on the last track of CD2 where the music cuts out for a fraction of a second each time.

      Seattle Center Coliseum, Seattle, Washington
4 or 5-27-92  Seattle Coliseum

2CD X AD VG+

The front insert has 5-27-92 and the rear insert has 4-27-92.

      Sports Palace, Mexico City, Mexico
2-27-93   Tower Of Strength

3CD SB EX

I was only able to find the Front and Front Tray for inserts. I ran across someones site that has the date as 3-??-93. CD1, track 9, from 3:05 - 3:09 during the talking between songs has loud hiss, as if a switch was hit turning off the music while at a high recording level. This show recorded for the next Live Album, which was "Live Shit: Binge & Purge". The inserts for LSB&P say it was recorded on 5 dates. Since I am not sure which date the Live CD's or the Video are from, I am going to assume this show is at least from just one night. If anyone has anymore information about any of this, especially if this might be a poor straight copy of "Live Shit: Binge & Purge", please let me know so I can delete it from the site and my collection.

St. Jakob (St. James) Football Stadium, Basel, Switzerland
6-20-93  Destroyer

2CD SB EX

If you don't like soundboard recordings because of how dry they sound without the audience feel, you should pass on this one. The audience is nearly non existent in the mix.

LOAD TOUR

Prins von Oranje hal, Utrecht/jaarbeurs Utrecht, Holland (The Nederland / The Netherlands)
12-11-96     A Change Of Seasons

1CD SB EX+

      Stockholm, Sweden
1-16-97  Unload 1997

1CD SB EX

      Target Center, Minneapolis, Minnesota
1-29-97     Loaded To Bear '97

2CD SB EX-

This show contains 4 bonus tracks from 11-22-88 Milwaukee-Mecca Arena, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and I rate them SB EX-. CD1, track 5 at :53 there is a quick zap/click/skip. This happens 2 more times on track 8 around 2:57 & 4:41.

RELOAD TOUR

      Stuttgart, Germany
8-23-97   End Of The Load

1CD SB EX+

This show is from the second night of the tour.

Corestates Complex Parking Lot, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
11-1-97                         Unknown Title

1CD NI (Unmixed SB from Fanclub VHS) EX-

This show was taken from the original Fanclub VHS (unmixed SBD).

Metallica's Rehearsal Complex In Baker Hamilton Square, San Francisco, California
3-21-98           Loading San Francisco

1CD FM EX+

3-21-98 San Francisco Soundboard

1CD X FM EX+

"Loading San Francisco" has more of the audience and the announcer/moderator talking). "San Francisco Soundboard" however, has 2 bonus tracks. Tracks 1-10 are from this date. This show is really cool because the audience and radio listeners get to request songs and one guy even gets to come up on stage and lead sing "Creeping Death". He sounds extremely close to James Hetfield. This show was being broadcast live at the same time Metallica was actually playing. Tracks 11 & 12 are studio rehearsals. This is a final rehearsal before touring.

Blockbuster Desert Sky Pavilion (US-Fest '98), Phoenix, Arizona
9-11-98                 Pour RE Touring Me U-Fest '98

2CD (UI) AD VG+

GARAGE INC. TOUR

      Aragon Ballroom, Chicago, Illinois
11-19-98    Unknown Title

2CD NI AD VG+

There are 11 bonus tracks that I rate from barely EX- to a descent EX-. All tracks are SB and none are live in concert. Except for track 13 on CD2, I do not know if they are Demos or what exactly. CD2, tracks 6 - 12 are from the early days. Track 13, "Creeping Death", does sound like a Demo. It was recorded in a studio or garage for sure though. Track 16 has noticeable tape hiss. A few seconds after the end of the last track, there is some kind of buzzing noise that I feel was mastered this way. This lasts less than a second is all.

Roseland Ballroom, New York, New York
11-24-98     New Yorks Garage

2CD (UI) SB EX-

Metallica plays some favorite cover tunes for the release of "Garage, Inc".

Griffith Air Force Base (Woodstock '99), Rome, New York
7-25-99      Woodstock 1999

2CD (UI) SB EX+

3 Com Park (Candlestick Park), San Francisco, California
7-14-00            Summer Sanitarium Tour 2000

2CD AD VG-

This show was recorded too high and we get lots of high end crackling like the mid-range speakers are blown.

ST. ANGER TOUR

      Fillmore West, San Francisco, California
5-22-03  No Title

2CD NI AD EX-

This is a rehearsel show for the upcoming "St. Anger" tour for which they played here for not only the first time ever, but did 4 of these shows here. This also contains at least one pre-release live song from St. Anger, "Frantic", which was due to be released about a month later. Track 10, "Sanitarium", around 1:30, has a weird noise that lasts for about a second and a half. (DAT)

(Rock AM-Ring Festival), Nurburgring (The Ring), Nurburg, Germany
6-8-03  No Title

2CD NI SB EX-

This show is extremely close to, if not an EX.

Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari (Heineken Jammin' Festival), Imola, Italy
6-13-03     Unknown Title

2CD NI AD EX-

There is talking, but it's not overwhelming. During "Nothing Else Matters", the audience sings all the words along with the band. Great sounding Bass Drum on this recording.

3 Com Park (Candlestick Park), San Francisco, California
8-10-03      Summer Sanitarium

2CD NI AD EX-

This was the last date of the "Summer Sanitarium Tour".
