HOLY DIVER TOUR

      The Concert Barn, Antiock, California
7-23-83             Antiock (The First Concert)

2CD (UI) AD VG

This was Ronnie James Dio's first solo concert. The first track is a Budweiser commercial done with DIO doing "Rainbow In The Dark", but with budweiser wording. "Hungry For Heaven" is a bonus track after an interview with someone from KROQ in Los Angeles, California.

      CAL Expo Amphitheatre, Sacramento, California
8-2-83       Unknown Title

1CD NI AD VG+

There are 3 bonus tracks from The Apollo, Glasgow, Scotland, and I rate them FM EX.

Castle Donington (Donington Park) (Monsters Of Rock Festival), Donington/Derbyshire, England
8-20-83  First Sighting

1CD SB EX

Santa Monica Civic Center, Santa Monica, California
10-7-83  Evil Eyes

1CD SB VG

This show was on an LP at some point. There is a sound heard throughout that I cannot get a hold on in order to describe. The best I think I can get is it sounds like the LP was really dirty and probably skipped alot, so they put a little extra weight on the tone arm in order to compensate. Luckily the LP is flat, but it sounds like the styli is digging in a little too much creating a scratchy high frequency extra crisp sound. Then again, it may have been that the microphones couldn't handle the high frequencies and/or was recorded to high with them. If it wasn't for these problems this show would have gotten an EX-, and could have pushed getting an EX.

San Jose Arena (Shark Tank), San Jose, California
11-15-83   San Jose 1983

1CD (UI) FM EX

This is a "King Bisquit Flower Hour" recording. As with most boot shows, it has flaws. The end of CD1 has a pop that sounds like a dirty LP. There are a half dozen or so of these at the beginning of CD2, and 2 more later in the same track. This show was on an LP at some point. (Analog Master)

      Draken, Stockholm, Sweden
11-17-83  Roughly

1CD AD VG+

I only have the Front artwork for this show. This show was recorded too high. We get a fuzzy distorted sound for the bottom end at high volumes in decibles. Otherwise this show would have gotten an easy EX-.

(Pink Pop Festival), Avalon, Holland (The Nederland / The Netherlands)
12-4-83  Pink Pop

1CD NI AD EX-

      Selland Arena, Fresno, California
12-28-83   Holy Evil

1CD FM or SB EX+

12-28-83 Fresno 83

1CD (UI) FM or SB EX+

The first two songs sound like the splash symbals had alot of extra splash. Some of the lead has been edited out on "Fresno 83", and is a low EX+, but in my opinion this version sounds the best. "Fresno 83" is about 3 1/2 minutes shorter than "Holy Evil".

THE LAST IN LINE TOUR

      Spokane Coliseum, Spokane, Washington
7-24-84   One Wild Night

1CD NI SB EX

      Spectrum, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
8-24-84            Unknown Title

1CD NI (Pro-Shot Video) EX

This show was filmed and has 3 bonus tracks from Japan in 1988 that I rate SB EX+. The '84 part of this CD was taken from the Officially released but Out Of Print VHS Tape called "A Special From The Spectrum - Live Concert Performance".

      (Breaking Sound Festival), Avallon, France
8-30-84       Last In Avallon, 1984

1CD (UI) AD EX

There is a 1 second gap right after Ronnie says "Thank you, goodnight".

SACRED HEART TOUR

      Grandstand, Toronto, Ontario, Canada
8-31-85  Grandstand

1CD AD VG+

      Spectrum, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
9-13-85    Unknown Title

1CD NI SB? EX

This show is a high EX and has a Live Pre-Release of "Time To Burn". The audience sounds like it is mic'ed from above the crowd and amplified between songs like an official Live release would be, but it doesn't have the instrument seperation like a normal soundboard does. So, this could be either an SB or an AD. If you can figure it out and give me a spot or two to check out, I would like to here from you.

DREAM EVIL TOUR

Castle Donington (Donington Park) (Monsters Of Rock Festival), Donington/Derbyshire, England
8-22-87    Castle Donington

1CD NI SB EX+

LOCK UP THE WOLVES TOUR

      Bronco Bowl, Dallas, Texas
10-7-90                Live In Dallas, Texas 10/7/90

1CD (UT & UI) FM EX

Track 11, "Tarrow Woman" is cut short. A few of the tracks have sudden start and stops. This is the last show of the tour. The artwork is from Big Fat Orange Cat.

STRANGE HIGHWAYS TOUR

(Silverfest), Milwaukee, Wisconsin & Nautica Stage, Cleveland, Ohio
7-10-94 & 7-2-98     Unknown Title

2CD NI FM & AD EX & EX-

This show was on Ronnie James Dio's birthday.

            THE TRACKS ARE

CD1 & CD2

All of CD1 plus tracks 1 & 2 of CD2 are from the "Silverfest" on 7-10-94, and I rate them FM EX

CD2

(3-14) Are from the Cleveland show, and I rate them AD EX-

ANGRY MACHINES TOUR

      Umeda Heat Beat, Osaka, Japan
5-7-97     Holy Gost Club

2CD AD EX-

The lead guitar is a little in the background, otherwise it would get an EX.

INFERNO TOUR

      Maritime Hall, San Francisco, California
5-22-98         Don't Go To Heaven

1CD (UI) AD VG+

Starting with track 8, the volume and quality increase to EX-. Track 5, 4:26, there is a gap of about a half a second with no music. 2 spots at the end of track 12 have fraction of a second gaps. There is light digital clicking starting around 2:00, which continues until the end of the track which is also the end of the CD at 5:57.

      Z7 Club, Prattein, Switzerland
10-10-98  Z7 Club

2CD NI AD EX-

This show is a high EX-.

INFERNO ~ "EUROFEST 99" TOUR

Forum (Eurofest 99), Nurnberg (Nuremburg), Germany
6-17-99                     Live In Nuremburg, Germany 6/17/99

2CD (UI) AD EX-

This show has a few obscure songs and is a low EX-. There are a few spots that sound like there was a short in a connection havening to do with the recorder or microphone(s). Although this noise is noticeable, none of the times it happens is it obtrusive nor do they last long. Starting around 3:00 on track 8 there is some kind of static that lasts for about 45 seconds. There are 2 bonus tracks. The first one is "Dream On" done by DIO and I rate it SB EX- because in this situation it has too much fuzz on everything indicating somewhere in the process it was recorded and or transferred too high. The second song is a live version of the song DIO did for the benefit CD from heavy metal bands. The song is called "Stars" and I rate it SB VG. This last track may have gotten a low VG+ from me, but there is a buzzing sound in the right channel that occurs on and off, but mostly on for the entire song. I only have a Front insert for this show.

MAGICA TOUR

      Ventura Theatre, Ventura, California
3-21-00  Iron Magica

2CD NI AD VG+

This show could have pushed an EX rating, but Ronnies vocals are a little buried in the mix. There are a couple dozen spots where a low toned popping sound occurs as if this were taken from an LP.

      Maritime Hall, San Francisco, California
3-27-00        Maritime Hall 2000

2CD (UI) AD EX-

CD2, track 6 has a couple of spots where the music drops out for a fraction of a second.

Birch Hill Nightclub, Old Bridge, New Jersey
4-27-00   Unknown Title

2CD NI AD VG+

This is a low VG+.

Irving Plaza, New York, New York
4-29-00   Holy Revival

2CD (UI) AD VG+

There is one bonus track. It is a cover of Aerosmith's "Dream On", but Dio'd up. I rate it SB EX.

      Hof Ter Lo, Antwerp, Belgium
5-3-00     Iron Magica

1CD (UI) AD EX-

There are LP sounding pops throughout that aren't digital skips. Most of the time these are tolerable. This coming from someone that back in the Vinyl days only purchased this form of media, but hated only one thing about them and that was the crackle and pops even brand new LPs had. This show for at least one song features Bruce Dickinson, Nicko McBrain with Janick Jers being possible.

      Baltiska Hallen, Malmo, Sweden
5-9-01       Malmo 2001

1CD (UI) AD VG+

KILLING THE DRAGON TOUR

Smirnoff Music Centre (Fair Park), Dallas, Texas
6-9-02        Scorching Smirnoff

1CD X AD VG+

The link to the venue has both Center and Centre listed as the official name. (MD Master)

      Chronicle Pavilion, Concord, California
7-28-02     Killing Concord

1CD (UI) AD VG+

For some reason this show sounds like the microphones may have been blocked in some way. It sounds good, but distant. (MD Master)

      Fillmore West, San Francisco, California
11-12-02         Return Of The Dragon

2CD (UI) AD EX-

CD1, track 3 ends suddenly after 1:27, then the drum solo starts part way into it. (MD Master)

      Chronicle Pavilion, Concord, California
8-29-03   Concord 03

1CD (UI) AD EX-

If the bass was a little more up front in the mix, this show would have gotten a high EX-.

      Sleep Train Amphitheater, Wheatland, California
8-30-03    Marysville 03

1CD (UI) AD VG+

This show is a very low VG+. In fact if someone were to say it was a VG, I wouldn't disagree. This was the final night of the tour.

MASTER OF THE MOON TOUR

      Tradgarn, Goteborg (Gothenburg), Sweden
7-21-04    Unknown Title

2CD NI AD VG+

This is a high VG+.

      Gypsy Tea Room, Dallas, Texas
10-21-04  Dallas 2004

2CD X AD VG+

There are a few ticks here and there throughout, especially on CD1, track 5. This show is from the Master Mini Discs > Master CD-R's > my CD-R copy. CD1, track 6 has a quick but shocking switch to and from another audio source. Then on the same track from 00:28 - 00:33 it switches to a piano only that isn't from this concert. Some of the guitar solo is cut off. These problems exist on the Master CD-R's. The crowd at times can be a bit too much. If you are a DIO fan, don't let the above problems keep you from getting this show. My comments sound worse than the show. (MD Master)

      The Grand, San Francisco, California
10-29-04  Unknown Title

2CD NI FM EX-

Sadly the radio station wasn't coming in perfectly, so it has a ringy scratchy sound.

10-29-04      No Title   (2nd Source)

2CD NI FM EX

This show was being broadcast over the radio as it was being performed live, and I was there. It also nearly received an EX+. The first 2 minutes of "Heaven And Hell" are at the end of CD1 and the beginning of CD2. My guess is that why this is this way is because of how that song was blended with the song before it in concert that night by the band. This way we get the feel of that.

      Zepp, Osaka, Japan
5-28-05   Unknown Title

2CD NI AD EX+

This show is a low EX+ or a very, very high EX.
